About Us
In Favor of the Planet, LLC was created in 2026 when a gap was noticed within the sustainability industry. There was a profound lack of credibly consistent sustainability resources offering guidance and training for both business and residential operations.
IFOTP serves to do this, but to also foster sustainability education with fun, focused on behavior changes that build long-lasting habits that fit both lifestyle and business operations. A science-based sustainability learning and training resource that facilitates partnership and solidarity through the entire journey.
The Founder
K. L. Spalding
K. L. Spalding, founder of In Favor of the Planet, is a woman in STEM. She's an AmeriCorps Alumnus, former Purdue Science Club President and active Project Coordinator of the PTK honors society. Spalding has engaged in environmental education sessions and workshops at local various schools and learning centers. She has held speaking presentations at Bluegrass Green Source's 2026 Sustainability summit and will be at KAEE's 50th annual 2026 conference. K. L. has been featured on Sustainability Now! by Forward Radio and Second Nature by Earth Common's podcasts as well as Influential Women magazine. She has also founded her own signature speaking initiative, The Bigger Picture Perspective, and is active is several local environmental and humanitarian organizations, volunteering her time and expertise when she can.
Mitigating Human Behavior in Favor of the Planet was originally a personal motto of K. L. Spalding's when she made the commitment to get involved.
In Favor of the Planet was created to serve as a resource resource in sustainability education and implementation for individuals and organizations. The primary goal of IFOTP is foster long-term change through connecting the dots for people with a scientific behavior-focused approach. The mission of turning change into action is sought through the combination of this with a holistic blend of sociology concepts that reflect the world we live in today.
